This is one of the reasons people taking CCW classes are usually told to NEVER fire a warning shot and to never pull their gun and point it at anyone to intimidate them. If you do either,YOU can be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon,and even making terrorist threats. The cops,DA,and the judge don't care because they split the money that goes into the court system.

The general sense is that if you are justified to pull your gun and point it at anyone,never mind shoot it,you are justified to shoot them to death,and if you DON'T think you are justified to shoot them to death,you shouldn't be pulling a gun on them.
