I admit to not knowing my nation's political history like I should. I do know that at times in our past horrible events have happened because of nasty, dirty politics. Anyone who pretends that this age is worse than another is lying to themselves.

What is different now, I believe, is social media has opened the floodgates and the common, every day people now feel an invasion of their privacy.

So when the press invades privacy this is like an additional assault.

It is only going to get worse, never better. There will be no return to civility. The culture will not allow it. The end result will be bloodshed. I just pray that it can be put off for as long as possible.
