Immigration advocates sent a message to Republicans Tuesday: “We will be a thorn in your side, every single day. We will be in your face. Get used to seeing us.”

The advocates, members groups that make up the Fair Immigration Reform Movement, pledged to stage escalating “relentless and constant confrontations” against every lawmaker who does not support immigration reform, beginning Tuesday. They said they will take the protests to lawmakers' districts Feb. 17, while members are on recess.

Forty percent of everybody in the United States of America can trace their family tree back to Ellis Island alone and Ellis Island was only in operation from 1892 until 1954. There were floods of immigrants before Ellis Island and after Ellis Island. The bottom line is that just about everybody and their dog has an immigrant background and being against “Immigration” is like being against Motherhood and Apple Pie.

The GOP needs to stop talking about “Immigration” and rediscovery the word “Illegal” in Webster’s Dictionary, rediscover the phrase “Rule of Law” in an American History book and rediscover the word "Alien" in U.S. law.

When I was growing up in the 1960's, I was a “Resident Alien” before I became a “Naturalized Citizen”. People who were in the U.S. illegally were “Illegal Aliens”.



In today’s Newspeak, there are only “Immigrants” and “Unfairly Treated Undocumented Immigrants”.

Once you allow the opposition to frame the debate with ridiculous Newspeak, you have already lost half the battle.

The retort to these illegal alien activists is quite simple:

“The United States is a land of LEGAL immigrants. Ellis Island was established specifically to enforce the legality of immigration and the immigrant ships did not simply dock at Lower Manhattan so that foreign citizens could just waltz into the United States in violation of U.S. law. What has differentiated America from much of of the troubled World for more than two centuries is the respect for the Rule of Law. Once that respect is gone, America becomes just another failed Republic and you would be destroying the same American Dream that you claim to seek. We can compromise on a lot of things but the American core value of the Rule of Law is non-negotiable. Fair is not a synonym for Illegal.”
