I don’t think I’ve ever seen Greg Gutfeld as hot as he was today at Jim Carrey for his attack on gun owners and gun rights activists. The adjectives were just flowing off his tongue as he railed against Carrey, saying that the video Carrey made only makes him want to go buy a gun.

While I disagree with Beckel's politics probably about 95 percent or so, I like to think there's something about him that distinguishes him from the current run-of-the-mill Obama-bots on the Left.
Perhaps it's his age. I don't know for sure, but I suspect he's in his 60s, which makes him part of an almost extinct species which I call the old Left. The old Left (most of whom are currently at room temperature) consisted of people like Hubert Humphrey, Harry Truman, Scoop Jackson and others.
While indeed they had (have, in Beckel's case) a politically messed up worldview, they did in their hearts love America.
