Good to hear that at least on FNC they are speaking truthfully about the fact that there are no cuts at all. Someone told me that Brett Baier was also speaking truthfully about this last evening, albeit very tentatively and delicately. Levin has been calling BS on the $85 billion number, he cites a CBO report that says it is actually $4N billion for this year, but I have not seen the report he is referencing (but I take Mark's word on that).
I have a proposal that should work well: Pass a law establishing an "Ultimate Committee" comprised of 8 Senators and 8 House Reps from each side of the "aisle," totaling 32 gasbags. They will be charged with a "double or nothing" directive. They will find "creative" ways to enact "sensible" spending cuts and "reasonable, common sense" approaches to generate new "revenue" and spur "investment" in a "balanced" manner that will cover the original sequestration target enacted in the 2011 bill. If they fail, then the original sequestration target will be doubled and will go into effect in for fiscal year 2016.
This is the kind of "responsible" government action that the people of the United States have come to expect, and demand (and may I add, deserve), from their elected officials, including me, the chief gasbag.
Despite the breathless 'reporting' from the liberal media elites, I have yet to hear of a single program cut (including defense) due to sequestration that I disagree with.
