The White House has come out against the ‘Plan B‘ proposed by House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), which would raise taxes on income over $1 million a year.

The president “is not willing to accept a deal that doesn’t ask enough of the very wealthiest in taxes and instead shifts the burden to the middle class and seniors,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement. ”The Speaker’s ‘Plan B’ approach doesn’t meet this test because it can’t pass the Senate and therefore will not protect middle class families, and does little to address our fiscal challenges with zero spending cuts.”

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told reporters earlier Tuesday that Democratic leaders will urge their members to vote against Boehner’s “Plan B,” meaning Boehner will have to scrounge up enough votes from his own contentious caucus if he wishes to pass the idea through the House.

Republican House members said their leaders indicated they will whip votes for the new path, tallying their support, this afternoon and then determine how to proceed. Many, including conservatives, said they were eager to hear more and emphasized taxes will go up if they do nothing. Republicans said their goal now is to shield as many Americans as possible from a tax hike.

The plan is a backup in case attempts to forge a broader spending agreement with the White House fail.

If you watch the details of how this script is playing out, IMO, there are only 2 possible conclusions with respect to Boehner:
1. He is completely clueless, the worst "negotiator" ever born of Earth, a complete dunce
2. He is completely in the bag to give the regime whatever they want, he is hoping that they toss him a "boene" or two to help him "save face"

I don't mean to sound harsh here, but I can't conceive of any other possibilities...

Aside from the general awkwardness of the statement. It bugs me that no one challenges these thugs on the content of their statements. Can someone in the WH press ask a few questions:

- "What are you and the President implying here, Jay? That only bills that pass the Senate are protective of the middle class? Are you implying that the Senate is the "protector" of the middle class?"
- "Why are you saying it 'can't' pass the Senate? Will it not be voted upon? If not, why not? Has it already failed in the Senate?"

There's a lot of other questions that could be asked, but none are asked any longer.
