The last 10 days or so have been a busy time around the ranch. it is spring birthing season and we have many new arrivals including several new foals. The down side; cows and mares are inconsiderate of my sleep time and seem to like to drop at night. Many sleepless nights this week but everybody is fine and healthy. One of my new arrivals looks like a great candidate for my new personal horse. He comes from a long line of Quarter Horses and his uncle has been my horse for 15 years. He is ready to retire.
I like this time of year. Renewal and little ones to watch over, gives me a good reason to get up in the morning.
BTW I got 6 coyotes this week and one of my Ranch hands got four more. They can be hell on calves. Now we are on lion alert.
