Makers of artificial limbs are volunteering to help amputees injured in the Boston Marathon bombings with some of their medical costs — joining a growing list of groups and funds aiding victims of the blasts.
Those who lost limbs in the tragedy could face the particularly steep medical costs of prosthetic care, and a trade group’s new coalition will offer them some financial assistance.
The American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association announced Tuesday the formation of the Coalition to Walk & Run Again, which will help victims of the Boston Marathon bombings who don’t have adequate insurance to cover the total cost of their first prosthetic devices.
