Ten tornadoes - including one a MILE wide - wreak havoc across Fort Worth killing at least six people and injuring more than 100
Six people have died and at least 100 people have been injured after up to 10 tornadoes ravaged Texas towns on Wednesday night, flattening homes, tossing trucks into the air and ripping out trees.
More than 250 people have also been left homeless after the massive storms struck the area around Granbury at about 8 p.m. local time - with many properties being crushed with people still inside.
Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds said early on Thursday morning that he hoped the death toll would hold at six, but that crews were continuing to go house to house to look for people trapped, injured or dead among the rubble of demolished homes.
Deeds said officials were still trying to account for 14 people, but it was not clear if they were missing or were simply away from the area.
