New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Friday he will gladly welcome President Obama back to his state during the president’s planned visit next week, despite criticism from some Republicans that Christie’s embrace of Obama following Hurricane Sandy cost Mitt Romney the 2012 presidential election.
Obama plans to return to New Jersey on Tuesday to survey recovery efforts still underway in the aftermath of the massive storm and speak about middle-class job opportunities.
“If the president wants to come back here and see the progress himself, I never worry about that stuff,” Christie told NBC’s “Today Show.” “I worry about doing my job.”
