My grandfather was an immigrant who became a citizen and settled near Detroit. He worked for Ford Motor Co. He was there as one of the employees who worked to establish fair working conditions. He was a proud union member until his retirement. And he voted for the Democratic ticket all of his life.
If he could see what was happening today he would shake his head in disgust.
Union thuggery is nothing new. But now when someone wants to engage in thoughtful discussion they are met with a punch. That this is done in front of cameras does not shame them.
They have no shame or moral foundation anymore. It's all about what they can get for themselves, not for their fellow citizens. That's not why unions started in this country. It was about an agreement between honest individuals working to help one another. That is lost to history.
This reminds me of when Lech Walesa initially desired to appear at the Occupy protests until he learned that their movement was not a sound one based in rights and freedom.
