The Founder’s Blog will feature essays about the Founding Fathers that we probably didn’t learn in school and will highlight Founders and historic figures that have been forgotten in history. Or even worse, their particular part in history may have been “corrected” or even erased by revisionists.
Several months ago, I got tired of yelling at the television in frustration and began looking for ways to get involved and maybe make a difference. Then I started reading reports (from the conservative media) about students and adults who could not identify George Washington as the Commander-in-Chief of our nations Revolutionary Army, or thought Thomas Jefferson was a signatory of the Constitution of the United States, and on and on and on.
Earlier in life, I was bored by history and usually avoided it. My own interest in American history was sparked by reading “The Lives of the Signers of The Declaration of Independence” which my wife had on her Nook. That provided the spark that ignited my interest in our Founding Fathers.
This little blog is my way of making a difference by telling the stories of little known or forgotten people and events from the founding era, as well as trying to correct those parts of history that have been deemed politically incorrect by today’s standards and sanitized or eliminated.
