"I cannot remember a time when one faction of one party promises economic chaos if it can't get 100% of what it wants. That's never happened before but that's what's happening right now," Obama said at an event at the White House that marked the fifth anniversary of the 2008 financial crisis.

"You have some Republicans in the House of Representatives who are promising to shut down the government at the end of the month if they can't shut down the Affordable Care Act. And if that scheme doesn't work, some have suggested they won't pay the very bills that Congress has run up, which would cause America to default on its debt for the first time in its history," Obama said.

This is just the beginning.

It will be unrelenting, the MSM will joyously plie on, it will be DOA in the Senate and , eventually, enough House Republicans will cave so a humiliating defeat is assured.

And, yet, there are ceratin cadets around here who advocate such a leap, head long, into Valhalla because either (a) they have no concept of political reality or (b) they want to damage the GOP for their own arcane reasons.

The Republicans cannot possibly win.

They don't have the votes in the Senate!

The best they can hope for is to win a long, ugly, stand-off.

This is inconceivable to me.

The Republicans will eventually cave and the conservative cause will be severely damaged, as a result.

There is absolutely no justifiable reason for picking this fight.....a fight that Republicans cannot win.

What TM was saying was that without leadership to guide us out of the trouble we are in, we are doomed. Right now we have two proven ineffectual losers running the GOP in the House and Senate.
