On Wednesday, the Illinois Senate Public Health Committee, led by anti-gun, Senate President John Cullerton and backed by Governor Patrick Quinn, passed House Bills 1263 and 815. These measures, if passed would ban nearly all common firearms and magazines, and institute new shooting range restrictions.

The NRA-ILA has issued a statement regarding the Illinois Senate’s new draconian gun proposals and warned that the both bills are to be taken up during Thursday’s legislative session.

All action is currently in the senate, the reps are not even in Springfield until late Sunday.

I gave ‘em an earfull.

Been thinking about this.

The Democrat proposal would have banned:
* All semi auto handguns, rifles, and shotguns
* All Lever action rifles
* All pump action rifles and shotguns
* All magazines that hold over 10 rounds

The 2nd Bill targeted Public Ranges with restrictions that would have forced most to close.

The combination sends the message to Shitcago Democrat Machine that the State is strong anti-gun, pleasing Tiny Dancer (Rahm Emanuel) , Jessie Jackass and the rest of the Democrat Machine. Yet at the same time is so outrageous that there is no downstate Democrat support causing them to fail. Both sides end up looking good to their diametrically opposed bases.

It is something weird I have been discovering here in Illinois. Rural Democrats are very different than Urban Democrats. Rural Democrats have not been completely assimilated into the Borg. Urban Democrats are feral, rabid, and need a bath.
