If you think bicyclists exhibit a dangerous degree of arrogance when they set out on roads made for cars now, wait until the latest foolish decree from California takes effect:
ZitatGov. Jerry Brown announced Monday he has signed legislation requiring California drivers to stay at least 3 feet away when passing bicyclists.
The infamous traffic of the Los Angeles area is about to take a turn for the worse.
Zitat[The bill] was sponsored by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, an avid cyclist who was injured in 2010 after a taxi driver abruptly pulled in front of him.
Good thing for young hipsters that Villaraigosa didn’t collide with a skateboarder, or a new law might force them to trade in their skateboards for pogo sticks.
I'm in the right lane moving down the road. A bicycle comes up in the lane to my right (in Georgia that would be the right turn lane) and wants to pass me on the right so that it can turn at the light that is ahead of me. Neither me nor the cyclist have actually passed each other, we are simply moving down the road in the same direction, approaching the light.
The bike just entered into space near me. I did not move my car nearer to it.
I'm supposed to move three feet away from the bicycle, now?
This doesn't make sense.
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
"If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here." - Barack Obama, June 7, 2013
Since Cali is doing this, I figure there are a lot of Mexican bike riders they are currying favor with. Everything they do is to get the illegal vote. Funny. I thought they all drove low riders.

Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)
