Tough to see the Rays go down like that, but that Sawx "Duck Dynasty" team is a juggernaut this season!

Pirates' rookie-phenom Gerrit Cole facing the Cardinals' dominant ace, Adam Wainwright.

It "got late early" last evening for the Pirates, falling behind on a 2 run HR in the second.

Truth be told, it got late even earlier than that, about 2 days earlier. Buccos' best shot to take this series was Monday at home in PNC, a game 5 on the road was a bit too tall an order for this season.

Sure it is disappointing to go out in any round, but the Pirates should look back on this season as a real plus, overall!!

First winning season in 21 years, stayed in the thick of the NL Central all the way down the wire (had they not been so damn streaky at various point of the season and lost so many in a row, several times, they could have won the Division going away), swept their ultimate WC oppenent over the last weekend of the season, beat that opponent in the WC game, and hung tough to a game 5 with a pretty decent Cardinals team...

A lot of young players just starting to hit their stride, some returning vets that know how to play their roles, a great skipper in Clint Hurdle, and one of the most enthusiastic fan bases in MLB, should give this team a great start to next season!!!
