An old adage (misattributed to Harry Truman by Maureen Dowd) advises newcomers to Washington that if they want to make a friend, they should buy a dog. Ted Cruz echoes that advice in a new interview with ABC News, in which he says that his ambitions in Washington didn’t involve becoming a beloved member of the clubbiest club in the world:

“There’s an old saying that, ‘Politics, it ain’t beanbag.’ And, you know, I’m not serving in office because I desperately needed 99 new friends in the U.S. Senate,” Cruz told ABC News’ Jon Karl in his first on-camera interview after the shutdown came to an end Wednesday night. …

And he made it clear that he thinks his Republican colleagues in the Senate are responsible for sabotaging his effort to tie funding for the government to an effort to defund or delay the health care law.

“I will say that the reason this deal, the lousy deal was reached last night, is because, unfortunately, Senate Republicans made the choice not to support House Republicans,” Cruz told ABC News. “I wish Senate Republicans had united, I tried to do everything I could to urge Senate Republicans to come together and stand with House Republicans.”

Well...my guess is they will be united when they get booted out the door. If these republicans dont get their act together and support what THEIR people put them there to do..their whole party is going to go up in flames...and the fire has started already.

Here's the deal.

When someone goes to the Senate or the House, they believe they've won the proverbial "Life's Lottery."

In many ways, they have.

Both the Ds and the establishment Rs are Statists who believe in bigger and bigger government. If there's any difference at all, its just in the matter of degree. Not philosophy.

(I personally don't use the term "rino" because the McClowns, Grahams et. al. ARE the republicans If one is going to use the term, I believe it's more accurate to say those like Cruz and Lee are the rinos)

But I digress . . . back to the topic at hand.

Democrats are the party of government. That is known by everyone who follows this stuff - especially the so-called opposition party, the republicans.

So if republicans don't actually get to govern, what (you may ask) is in it for them? For those like McClown and Graham and McConnell?

Well - that's easy. It's a great life - with a lot of perks. And when you make a career of trashing conservatives - like Hanoi John has done - you get to have a pretty good life, indeed.

Praises by the likes of the NY Times. Permanent guest slots on Meet The Press and Fox News. Wow - it just doesn't get any better!

So it's not a mystery and it sure aint' rocket science.

Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and the others are HATED by the establishment BECAUSE they THREATEN the establishment.

It's really as simple as that.

When's the last time a Dem outright took down a fellow Dem?

We have a lot of change needed. McCain even went so far earlier to describe OCare as the people's wish. What?? What people is he talking about? the 30% who are mostly uninformed. There's nobody else.
