In NY, they always had to give insurance to those who had pre-exisiting conditions. Well..maybe not always but at least in the past 5-10 years or so.
They are still running obamacare commercials..however, they arent pointing people towards the govt site..it seems NY has their own. Also, in place of all of these drug commercials they shove down our throats..during the news hours, they are now replaced with insurance companies. We have been getting a ton of insurance ads (you deal directly with their company).
I am a bit concerned with our own insurance. My husband still works and I believe a part of the reason he hasnt retired is the insurance. His company was taken over by new owners, several years ago. Bit by bit they have been screwing the workers out of money and hours...and they constantly change our insurance. A year or two ago, they changed to something that costs us more (we partially pay it) and gave us less. If we wanted to keep what we had, another 50 dollars a week would have come out of his pay.
I just asked my husband if they have more than 50 employees and he said he didnt think so, anymore. These people are such cheap SOBs that I worry that they will discontinue to offer insurance, and then we will be on our own. So..I am actually paying attention to some of these commericals. One good thing is..if they decide to discontinue coverage..maybe my husband would actually retire.
Zitat Bit by bit they have been screwing the workers out of money and hours.
Is it the company screwing him or is it a function of the new over regulated Obama Economy where they have to compete with an entity receiving govt' assistance?
Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) took a $2 Billion dollar bribe to destroy the country that our kids and grand kids will be paying for.
"Kris Malean, 56, lives outside Seattle, and has a health policy that costs $390 a month with a $2,500 deductible and a $10,000 in potential out-of-pocket costs for such things as doctor visits, drug costs or hospital care.
As a replacement, Regence BlueShield is offering her a plan for $79 more a month with a deductible twice as large as what she pays now, but which limits her potential out-of-pocket costs to $6,250 a year, including the deductible.
“My impression was …there would be a lot more choice, driving some of the rates down,” said Malean, who does not believe she is eligible for a subsidy."

That's just it Kris, your impression was wrong. Not your fault mind you.
You were sold the largest bait and swap in the history of the United States.
It's called the Affordable Care Act if you didn't know by now. The Obama admin is actually driving people FROM the work force. This is unprecedented.
The bureaucracy: the new fourth branch of government. The bureaucracy is permanent, unaccountable, unelected and choking us like a weed. The bureaucrat exists, generating nothing of value, using perceived problems to justify his existence.
