I was discussing this at the local Starbucks with one of my friends yesterday. Two yutes came over and challenged me that I was lying. LOL - step on a land mine right away! I pulled out my non Apple pad and opened the story and showed them. They claimed it was all hype. So I went to the story about the paper hiring armed guards to protect it's work place. I then asked two questions.

1, Why is it that when libs feel threatened the first thing they do is call someone with a gun? (No answer).

2. What good did they think would come of publishing the info anyway?

The guy insisted that it was important that everyone know where guns are. So I told him he was standing in the middle of a circle of at least five guns - I thought he was going to drop his teeth. He again called me a liar. So I turned to the guy at the next table that I also know and asked how many guns did he have on him. He smiled and said two. My buddy chimed in with he had two on and I followed with I had two and four more in the gas guzzling SUV parked outside. Thought the kid was going to die. About that time the store manager walked by and this low information voter asked her if she knew there were armed men in her store. She smiled and said "Yes, and it makes me fell more secure."

I then asked if he had been hurt by any of the guns in the room. Both then gathered their stuff and left in a huff. Poor young lady, actually seemed to get it but felt obligated to follow her "man" out the door.

I think these people named should sue the crap out of the paper for putting their lives in danger. I imagine a good chunk of the legal gun owners listed in the paper are LEO's. If one person is harmed by this stunt they should press criminal charges.

It was just another typical liberal reaction without any forethought to the real consequences of their actions.

Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, who spoke at a news conference flanked by other county officials, said the Journal News' decision to post an online map of names and addresses of handgun owners Dec. 23 has put law enforcement officers in danger.

"They have inmates coming up to them and telling them exactly where they live. That's not acceptable to me," Falco said, according to Newsday.

Robert Riley, an officer with the White Plains Police Department and president of its Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, agreed.

"You have guys who work in New York City who live up here. Now their names and addresses are out there, too," he said adding that there are 8,000 active and retired NYPD officers currently living in Rockland County.

Local lawmakers also say that they intend to introduce legislation that prevents information about legal gun owners from being released to the public.
