I don't trust Democrats....ever, so I'm dubious about this report.

Limbaugh and others are already complaining that the Republicans should not "bail-out" Obama and the Democrats by trying to "fix" ObamaCare.

But, there is no downside to the GOP being seen as trying to fix ObamaCare because the fact is it can't be fixed.

Republicans are just maneuvering into position to once again make the case that it must be repealed....hopefully with ever increasing public support for doing so.

On his show, Limbaugh was, lterally, freaking-out about how the Republicans will either be duped by the Democrats in this matter or...get this...the GOP wants to mess this up in order to make their base angry.

I'll say it again: Rush is losing it.

There is no current evidence or reason to panic over this at this time....none.

Relax, if this concept ever gets put into legislative language the GOP will have plenty of time to add amendments and provisions favorable to them, politically.

It is certainly true that some patients cannot be "fixed". However, you should never underestimate how "piss-poor protoplasm" can be kept alive for many years in a decent ICU.

Okay, … Fast Forward …. Poof. It is now December 2014 and, after going back to sleep for a year, the American electorate is starting to once again go to their mailbox and then scream … “Whadaya mean my health insurance policy is being cancelled because of ObamaCare?!? Aaaarrrgghhh!!! ” The Decamber 2014 headlines read, “Millions of policies to be cancelled in early 2015”.

Man, are those voters going to be fuming mad! “That Obama lied! Those Democrats lied! We are going to vote ALL those Democrat Congress-critters out of office come the midterm elections that are coming up …. umm … coming up …… umm ….. Oh, cr@p, that was LAST month ….. and I voted Democrat … again.”

Okay, help me out here. What is the long term strategic goal of the Upton bill?

Tactically, you get a warm and fuzzy feeling for slapping down Obama. Strategically, if the Upton bill passes, come December of 2014, you have saved the Senate for the Democrats and you STILL have all these millions of people who will lose their insurance plans. Strategically, you have done absolutely nothing except for pushing the button for a one year long Snooze Alarm that allows the angry voter pit bull that now want Democrats for dinner to go back to sleep and snore.

Right now, anger is at a fever pitch in regards to Obama’s Big Lie.

Obama promised, “If you like your health plan, you can keep it. Period.”

That is exactly how any GOP-sponsored bill should read …. “ … “would allow Americans to continuing their existing health plans or seek comparable health plans from other willing companies. Period.”

Period means Period. No time limits. No double talk.

Would that kill ObamaCare?

You betcha. What 27 year old or 57 year old guy is going to pay higher premiums to get Maternity coverage, Lactation Services coverage and subsidize the birth control of some other guy’s wife or girlfriend?

ObamaCare will then be defunded by the American people themselves.

Obama and the Democrats will then claim that the GOP wants to kill ObamaCare. The GOP then replies: “We are not here to either kill ObamaCare or save ObamaCare. We are here to carry out the wishes of the American people.”

The bottom line is that Obama told the Big Lie because he knew America would have strongly opposed the true ObamaCare. The GOP would be offering America what was originally promised by Obama. If the original promise was non-viable, that is the fault of Obama and the Democrats, not the GOP.

“But, the Democrats would never support a bill that would keep those plans after a year.”

Fine. Let the Democrats kill the "You Can Keep It - Period - Bill" and let the Democrats face the very angry voters in November 2014

Handing political cover to the "ObamaCare Twelve Senators" right before the 2014 election, however, serves a HUGE strategic purpose for the Democrats. A Senator can "crack" today and be 110% behind Obama tomorrow. However, getting voted out of the Senate has lasting consequences.

Put yourself in the shoes of a Democratic U.S. Senator up for reelection in 2014. "Senator". Sounds really good, doesn't it? You want to stay "Senator" but your voters are livid about the ObamaCare mess.

Who are you going to side with? Lame Duck Obama? His poll numbers are crashing and, after he leaves office in 2017, you could still be "Senator".

No, your Number One loyalty is to yourself. Besides, the lovable Bill Clinton has given you all the political cover you need among Democrats. The Clintons are the future. Side with them. The Clintons love their own interests far more than they love ObamaCare and you should follow their lead.

What did Bill Clinton say? That Obama should honor his promise.

What was the promise? "If you like your plan, you can keep it. PERIOD." Not for one year. "You can keep it. PERIOD."

That's what an angry America wants. The original promise. PERIOD.

So, why would the GOP side with Obama's lie? "PERIOD" does not mean "for one more year".

The ObamaCare Twelve will be desperate enough to "crack" with a "PERIOD" version of the bill. If they vote against it, the voters will tear them apart in November of 2414. Why offer them a "you can keep it for only one more year" bill and then have the GOP enabling Obama's Big Lie?

Imagine Hillary in 2016: "As my husband Bill said, President Obama should have kept his promise. The President did not and that was wrong. The Republicans did not hold him to his promise and that is why you lost your insurance in 2015. We Clintons tried to have promises kept but neither this failed Obama Administration nor the GOP sided with us. That is we need a Clinton back in the White House so we can trust Government again!"

By having a "for one year" Poison Pill in the Upton bill, the GOP plan has allowed Bill Clinton to be the only one willing to hold Obama to his "Period" promise.
