Sen. Reid says Hurricane Katrina was "nothing in comparison" to Sandy.



Speaking to fellow lawmakers on Friday before a vote on Superstorm Sandy aid, Senator Harry Reid said Hurricane Katrina was "nothing in comparison" to Sandy.

"The people of New Orleans in that area, they were hurt," said Reid. "But nothing in comparison to what happened to the people in New England."

Reid went on to say New Orleans received help within days of the storm, but it has been two months since Superstorm Sandy. Today, President Obama signed the $9.7 billion bill to pay for flood insurance claims following Sandy. The law increases the borrowing authority of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA had warned that it was set to run out of money without additional dollars from Congress. The House has yet to act on a larger, more comprehensive Sandy aid package.

He's an idiot. A craven, calculating idiot, but an idiot nonetheless.

He's definitely ticked off a few Cajuns. The problem for both storms is the vile dems politicizing these disasters to score points.

Katrina- 1500 deaths

Sandy- 110 deaths

He was making a swipe at the R's in the House. The thing is so much pork has been added to the aid package that the money isn't going to those in need but to pork projects in states that weren't affected by the storm.
