On the call, according to a donor who was on it, McConnell personally named Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) as Tea Party conservatives he views as problematic for him. “The bulk of it was an attack on the Tea Party in general, Cruz in particular,” the source, a prominent donor, said in a phone interview with Breitbart News......
“McConnell said the Tea Party was ‘nothing but a bunch of bullies,’” the source said. “And he said ‘you know how you deal with schoolyard bullies? You punch them in the nose and that’s what we’re going to do.’”......
Rove spokesman Jonathan Collegio denies that anything was said about Cruz, Lee, or the Tea Party in general but admits the call did take place.....
“Your source is ascribing things to the call that simply were never said,” Collegio said in an email. “There was no ‘anti-tea party donor call.’ There was a call....
This is the kind of gossip that just tears down the party. You've got a no named source claiming something that is sure to anger the Tea Party. Collegio, will be branded a liar based on the very same passionate hate towards Rove. And it's just not logical that an anti Tea Party donor would be the one turning on McConnell and Rove
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell appears intent on making himself the poster child of weak Republican Party leadership. Yes, I suppose when the Tea Party isn’t “bullying” Mitch, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is kicking sand in his face by employing the so called nuclear option.
Perhaps if McConnell wasn’t wasting so much time plotting behind the scenes against the real fighters in his own party, he could man up and take on Harry Reid effectively, which is, after all, supposed to be his job. If recent events prove anything, it’s that Mitch McConnell has failed and continues to fail at that very thing.

To Eggie edit personal attack:
Why didn't Ted Cruz stop the "nuclear option"....like he stopped the CR funding ObamaCare?

"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
"If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here." - Barack Obama, June 7, 2013
So immature. Its gotten so when I see certain people going back and forth with nonsense, I dont even read the thread. Save your bickering for some other forum, because people are sick of seeing it here.
