"We're encouraging [insurers] to offer retroactive coverage," Michael Hash, director of HHS's office of health reform, told reporters on a Thursday afternoon conference call. "For example, to allow someone who signs up and pays on January 5 to get coverage with a retroactive start date of January the first."

"Many insurers do retroactive coverage in the current market," HHS policy director Chiquita Brooks-Lasure said later on the same call. But health care industry consultant Bob Laszewski says that isn't true.

"I don't know what the hell they're talking about," Laszewski tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD. "I've been in the health insurance business for 40 years. You sign it prospectively, not retrospectively."

What a joke. What do they think these insurance companies are stupid? I know they had dollarsigns in their eyes..thinking the whole country is being forced to buy...but they sure as hell arent going to start giving things away..out of the goodness of their hearts.

Also..from what I have been reading, a lot of these plans are misquoted (price, deductable, etc). Some of these people are buying on the blind..they dont know the correct price, they dont know if their doctor is on the so called lists. Plus, none of these policies are paid for. They arent insured unless they pay. Wait until they actually get to check out their policies. Drop, drop, drop, drop. The insurance companies KNOW this.

Ya know..you can fool people, lie to people, make things seem differently than they are..but dont stick your hand in their pockets.....suddenly.....they wake up.

I was reading some article today, about these big wig dems in NYC..doctors, lawyers, actors, writers...that used to be in some kind of insurance pool or group type thing..to lower their costs, since they were self insured. Haha..well all of these poor libs got their insurance canceled. All of these pooooor obama and obamacare supporters. One went so far as to say..if she realized this was going to happen, she would have voted for Romney...lmao I am telling ya..some idiots STILL arent awake...but they will be..as soon as this employee paid insurance goes down the chitter.

I cant imagine, the entire middle class (upper and lower) buying obamacare. Some wont want to pay for it..and others wont be able to afford to pay for it. I cant wait to see where this goes.
