Convicts shouldnt even be allowed to vote. Are their votes actually counted..or do they find excuses, like they came in too late, like they do with the military?

IMHO,nobody should be able to vote that isn't a property owners that pays taxes. That's the way the system was originally set up and conceived to run because it eliminated a lot of self-interest voters.
Even then if you are a corporate farmer that lives off of tax money via subsidies and money paid to not farm, you shouldn't be allowed to vote, either.
Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)
ZitatIn terms of electoral results, President Obama would have added 2.6pt to his 0.9pt Florida margin had felons and ex-felons been allowed to vote. Even if we just count ex-felons, it would have been 2.2pt. Al Gore would have easily won the state given this data. Obama would have tacked on another 1.6pt to his 3.9pt win in the swing state of Virginia if it had the felon voting rules of Maine or Vermont. It would still have been an additional 1.2pt including just ex-felons...
There was a woman that dug into the numbers of the black vote for Obama in 2008. She found that most people who quoted the high percentage of the black Americans that voted for Obama had neglected to count the total number of the black population. This was because they didn't consider those that are in the prison system. When she pointed this out she was attacked.
I don't know what the true numbers are, because I tend to not believe numbers that I read in the press.
But New Mexico, New York and North Carolina are insulting their law-abiding citizens when they allow felons to vote. Weakening the power of the vote is disgraceful.

If felons and ex-felons weren't allowed to vote in Florida, how did Sharpton get that federal grant to enroll voters in prisons when Goober Gore was running against Boy Jorge?

Black preachers and "community organizers" have been getting federal grant money for decades to enroll blacks, and there has been prison projects to enroll them to vote going back to the 60's. The NAACP used to be big on this.

When people say that voting doesn't matter anymore they point to voter fraud. Until our government tackles this issue and protects the right to vote then I don't see how anyone can have faith that their vote really counts. Those that ignore the problem only continue to allow for our destruction.
