Biden: Obama considering ‘executive order’ to deal with guns

The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper reports that Vice President Joe Biden told the press prior to his meeting with victims of gun violence that the President was willing to use an executive order to deal with guns.

“The president is going to act,” Biden said, “There are executives orders, there’s executive action that can be taken. We haven’t decided what that is yet. But we’re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required.”

Joe loves to prove daily what an idiot he is.

That is the truth. How in the hell have we managed to elect such idiots to lord over us? Just thought it was worthy of discussion.

But if Obama is dumb enough to use an EO to grab people's guns, then I will be eating crow.

Why wouldn't Biden think Obama and his "attorney general" could just law down the law of the land?
He's done it before and no one stopped him? Remember the illegals?

Floating the EO route out shows that there is no interest in congress in doing anything on gun control. The Regime is going to slap together some half assed EO that will immediately go to the courts and get slapped down. That way the Libs can say they tried to do something, but the dirty GOP jerks wanted kids dead and the courts also want people shot in the streets.

The BATFE doesn't need Congressional oversight to add weapons to the Class 3 category.
They added the Striker, the 'drop-in' Auto-sear and a number of other weapons to the Class 3 Any Other Weapon category on orders from the AG.

Do not be surprised if Oblunder uses the EO to put ALL weapons on the 'assault weapons' list in this category, with a limited amnesty period to register them and pay the $200 tax, or be labelled a criminal by fiat.

Well the bush no new taxes did use an executive order to stop the importing of uzi's. No one contested it.

That does not mean it would stand up to a court case, and you can still buy a uzi parts kit and build your own receiver.

Vice President Joe Biden, in remarks today before a meeting on guns, suggested the Obama administration is seriously considering outlawing unregulated "private" gun sales:

"And so the kinds of things that there's an emerging set of recommendations, not coming from me but coming from the groups we've met with," said Biden today, before a closed door meeting on gun control. "And I'm going to focus on the ones that relate primarily to gun ownership and the type of weapons can be owned. And one is, there is a surprising -- so far -- a surprising recurrence of suggestions that we have universal background checks. Not just close the gun show loophole but total, universal background checks, including private sales."
