The sys administrator just discovered tonight that Goldi died on 15 Nov. No one knew anything was wrong until she failed to make the Dec web site payment,and the web site went down. The sys admin was a friend of hers that lives in another city,so he paid the fees himself to get LP back up online in case she was away on vacation or in the hospital.

I suggested he contact the sheriff's office there and have them send a deputy around to her address to do a "courtesy safety and health check" because she was a senior citizen,had poor health,and was living alone,and they got back with him pretty quickly and told him the condo admin noticed UPS packages stacking up at her door and called in the sheriff's to check on her and found her dead in her condo on 15 Nov.

Goldi was always pretty much of a "hands off" web owner and left people alone to sort out their own problems. I can think of only a couple of times when she had to step in and ban someone,and each time it was after being severely provoked.

I never met her and didn't agree with her on everything,but I joined her web site by invitation the first week it was up,and I honestly feel like I have lost a friend. She was a conservative with a libertarian POV on most issues,and never really tried to force her views on anyone else. IMHO,the internet needs more site owners with that state of mind.

I never got involved with LP. Did she ever post on FR?
