When people sign up though it seems part of the confirmation should be they announce their arrival in the "Welcome" thread. No bot would do that would it?

No I dont have to approve new members, but I do get a notice each time a new member joins. Bots are harmless, and users that don't post or no one knows have restricted access.

Not clear how interested he is. He's pretty loyal to his 'mission field' at FR.

He might appreciate a private, mostly sane, safe haven! LOL.

Most here probably know him as conservative, fairly feisty, fun, zany, big-hearted.

He might give some at FR more grace and affection than most of us would but I see him as solidly conservative and very caring with a bright minded wit.
