Authorities said Saturday that they still have an open line of communication with an Alabama man accused of abducting a 5-year-old boy and holding him hostage in a bunker, and they thanked the suspect for taking care of the child as the standoff marked its fifth day.
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
This story has been going on for five days. I can only imagine what the little boy is going through.
I will add that the AP writes terrible headlines. I would have called him the "kidnapper", not the "suspect". I know he hasn't been convicted of the offense as of yet, but I think he took the boy and is holding him captive at this very moment.
Orthodoxy SUCKS.

It a deliberate attempt to create sympathy for the suspect. Why, I don't know. Considering it is suspected he is staging some sort of protest against the gov't in his homemade shelter I would think they would go with " Prepping wacko right wing kidnapping gun loving terrorist tea***** shooter "
