I'm just telling you what I saw, what I heard, and what's in the news. It's a little conflicting. The Gallup poll people do disagree with Obama issue by issue by issue.

The New York Times says there is support for Obama's agenda but dissatisfaction with the way the country's going. See, those are two separate things. This is what we are going to have to learn to understand. Obama's agenda doesn't have anything to do with the country's direction. As far as the low-information voter is concerned, they're two separate things: support for Obama's agenda but dissatisfaction with the country's direction.

Now, you and I might say, "Well, wait a second now. The country's direction is precisely related to Obama's agenda." But no! We would be terribly wrong. Obama's agenda has nothing to do with the country's direction. Obama's agenda is about fixing it, and people support it. Now, this is also a mendacious media at work because this is exactly the opposite of what Gallup reported the day before that we discussed.

According to Gallup, the American public disapproves of every Obama policy except for his handling of defense. But the New York Times has this story that's just the exact opposite. Polls show dissatisfaction with country's direction but support for Obama's agenda. Two separate things. The Frank Luntz focus group was pretty much the same thing. They pretty much disagreed with what they heard last night in policy, but they liked the speech and they like what Obama said.

Rush is right. Zero has insulated himself from any responsibility by consistently blaming others whether they are real or imagined. The new majority voter in this country, the Low info crowd, buys it all the way and always will. Zero has absolutely no opposition from the Right and so he will skate on everything. He will go down in history as the best President the country ever had despite the truth.

Pretty SAD but true !!

Rush is right, assuming that the poll results are valid.

The left has succeeded in dumbing down and brainwashing a majority of Americans.

I don't see that changing in my lifetime.

They've been working too diligently and insidiously for too long.

May God have mercy on what's left of America.

I know Rush thinks this, and I totally understand feeling this way and the depression it entails, but I do think he's wrong.

I think that the economy was just good enough to allow him to squeak by the election.

But if things get worse, and I am fully confident they will unfortunately, the people will eventually turn on Obama and the Democrat party and liberalism.

How do you explain poll after poll the last two weeks where Americans overwhelmingly say the country is in terrible shape, especially the economy, but love what Zero is doing in office? Rush's explanation is the only one that makes sense on this. I am not discrediting the polls anymore. Heisen and I were the biggest Nate Silver haters over at TBL and he ended up being right on the basis of all the major polls.

You'd understand Nate's assessment at the beginning of the summer: Obama was the slight favorite due to the economy being just good enough to get him re-elected, by about 1-2%.

Exit polls said the same thing, voters reelected Obama on the basis of the economy. Look it up.

Now you and I think those 4 in 10 are complete idiots. And they are.

But that's all it takes to win a Presidential election, the perception that things are getting better.

You and I know they're not, and they won't. They will get much, much worse.

I don't think he or anyone in his administration will be held responsible either . . .

unless or until he turns into a very dramatic and very public train wreck.
