Rush Limbaugh made an astounding statement during his program on the day following the State of the Union sermon. Mr. Limbaugh confessed that he hadn’t understood that America doesn’t connect the Lyin’ King or his policies with the ills besetting the nation. Until now, that is.
What caused the epiphany? Mr. Limbaugh arrived at this conclusion after viewing a focus group, post presidential speech. This focus group was composed entirely of former Romney voters. The focus group, like a majority of the nation, hates the direction the country is taking yet loved the president’s speech. Mr. Limbaugh was astounded by this “double-think.” He credited some of his listeners with having been aware of it before he was. What Mr. Limbaugh acknowledged was revealing but, it is only the tip of the iceberg.
Mr. Limbaugh, quite correctly, identified that the president always makes certain that he is never perceived as “governing.” He is solely focused on playacting at resisting the phantoms he claims are to blame for the ills that beset us. Those forces are never caused by him. And he is believed by a large portion of the constituency, despite his four-year history of lying to us, day in and day out. Mr. Limbaugh further added that such behavior is a staple of dictatorship.
Such Orwellian conduct by all concerned isn’t the major problem, however. In order for such an alarming dichotomy to be possible there has to be a total disregard for logic and common sense. And this is the issue that is still not being addressed.
Common sense is anything but common. Like every action a human being can perform, either physical or mental, common sense must be learned. A human being is not born with such ability, fully developed. And logic must accompany common sense. Logic is a discipline that is based upon fact and evidence of whatsoever is true. Logic teaches one to think. Without it, “common sense” would still dictate that the earth is flat.
Logic used to be a required subject in school. It isn’t anymore. That isn’t an oversight. Bertrand Russell knew this over 60 years ago: “Education should aim at destroying free will, so that, after pupils have left school, they shall be incapable, throughout the rest of their lives, of thinking or acting otherwise than as their schoolmasters would have wished.” (Page 50 – The Intended Result of Education, c. 1952). He wasn’t advocating this; he was simply stating the obvious.
The left is never required to prove anything. Leftists make a statement and whatever they say automatically becomes true because they say it is so. We are expected to choke down their swill without a murmur of protest. Despicable celebutards, like Bill Maher, routinely get away with the most barefaced slurs, like his Tweet that Senator Marco Rubio is a “shameless liar” because Senator Rubio factually stated that The Lyin’ King created more debt in four years than former President Bush generated during eight years in office. Every media outlet, whether entertainment, mainstream media or our elected representatives tells us only what they want us to believe regardless of how frequently what they tell us changes. And a dumbed-down populace meekly swallows, without dispute.

Excellent piece!
The "inability" of today's college grads to critically think has indeed reached the status of "incapable".
This fact was driven home a few years ago when my 24 yo stepson was visiting. He borrowed the car which was tuned in to talk radio. One of the hot button topics was being discussed that day [abortion, gay rights or something] and upon arriving home my stepson declared that he was so worked up over the conversation he heard that he called in and was in line to go on the air. Only the top of the hour prevented him from being broadcast evidently. Of course I was curious what he wanted to say so badly, so I asked, "What were you going to say if you had got on the air?"
He said rather proudly, "I was going to tell them that anybody that believed that was an idiot!"
Well that about summed up for me the wasted four years of college that I had just helped pay for. To think that berating someone was his idea of advancing the conversation? Today the colleges are indeed merely indoctrinating students. They are NOT teaching them to weigh matters from both perspectives, to think and to arrive at informed conclusions.
That made/makes me very sad.
. . And suddenly the world turned asymmetrical. There were no longer any battle fronts. It was every man for himself.
