See, I spent weeks and weeks in the hospital. Prior to my middle of the night check-in, I had no idea of how ill I was. I could not prepare to vote months in advance. Hell, I couldn't prepare for the care of my children. That was the year that I was so ill that I had to send my children across the country to live with family for ten months while I struggled to recover from my illness.

There are some things that are more important than voting. Like say, surviving?

Ten months of illness, W-girl. I survived it.

George W. Bush won whether I voted for him, or not.

He was still my president. I am still a citizen. And I can criticize him or praise him as much as I like, because his policies still effect me and my family, today.

Yeah, but, Michelle Bachmann? She shouldn't have been there.

When candidates let their egos get in the way and they refuse to be honest with themselves about their chances to win the primary, they only muddy the waters and cause a fuss when they should have sat that one out. They run vanity candidacies and are a waste of time.

Even Rick Perry should have sat it out. He had to have known how his physical limitations were inhibiting him from performing at his peak. He should have waited.

I agree that several shouldn't have been in the race. They did split the conservative vote which allowed Mitt to win the primaries. It wasn't the best selection of candidates.

They had to have known they were not going to win the primary. They wasted everyone's time.

Bachmann couldn't get out of her own way. She knew she couldn't beat Romney.

I like Perry. I just think he wasn't able to perform at his peak. And should Perry want to run again, he is going to have to overcome the stumbling that he self-inflicted in the previous primary. He set up this unnecessary hurdle for himself.

No, Frank. I think it is good to remember how far we have come, though. I think that Americans have a lot to be thankful for, men and women.

I am a woman and I'm grateful for the 19th Amendment. I could have been born in China or Afghanistan. I could have been born in a nation where I would be seen as less valuable or unworthy of the rights that I have because I am a woman.
I feel richly blessed to be an American woman. That's one of many reasons why I voted this morning.

November 2, 2004, on the day that George W. Bush was voted into office for his second term, I was in the hospital. I did not vote because I was severely ill.

And no. I'm not going to post my personal medical records for you to ponder over.

I did vote for him on November 7, 2000.

When I entered the hospital in 2004, George W. Bush was my president. When I was too ill to vote for him, he was my president. The moment he was re-elected he was my president. When I was fully recovered in the summer of 2005, I went to pick up my children. On that fine summer day, George W. Bush was still my president.

I am still a citizen with the right to free speech. I will exercise it as I choose.
