Hence the reason the California teachers pension failed to divest from Smith & Wesson.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Smith & Wesson said Tuesday that earnings more than tripled in its most recent quarter. The company also raised its outlook for gun sales this year.
The nation’s second biggest publicly traded gun company said it earned $17.5 million, or 26 cents per share, from continuing operations in the quarter that ended in January. That’s up from $5.4 million, or 8 cents per share, in the same period last year.
Sales jumped 39% to $136.2 million, the company said.
Smith & Wesson was expected to earn 23 cents per share on sales of $134 million, according to analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters. The results followed a similarly strong quarterly report from gun maker Sturm Ruger last week.
Despite the better-than-expected earnings, shares of Smith & Wesson fell nearly 2% in extended trading.
I hear ammo is hard to come by, that if you don't buy a gun they don't want to sell you the bullets, is that true?
Quote: Shanghai Dan wrote in post #2I fed that a bit, by procuring a new 686 Plus, 4" barrel. Lovely revolver! Now I think I need to get a 4" barrel 617 to go with it...
"The Republican Party doesn't demonize prosperity. We celebrate success in our party," he said. "And let me be clear, if Republican leaders want to join this president in demonizing success and disparaging conservative values, then they're not going to be fit to be our nominee."
Wal mart restricts ammo to two boxes per day, if they have what you want. Cannot find 22 ammo, 22 mag ammo, 223, 308, ak ammo, buckshot, and lots of pistol calibers. Lot at on line sellers, all out of stock.
I am not a republican I am a conservative, and supporter of the rule of law. And refuse to support any of Roves dopes.
Some places will restrict ammo - having a 686 allows me to use 38 special and 357 magnum... Even if the store restricts me to 2 boxes per day, that's 4 total boxes (two per caliber).
But I don't really worry - I reload my own. Still have the bulk of my Montana Gold bullet purchase, somewhere North of 1000 empty brass, and more than enough powder and primers to wear that brass out!
