President Barack Obama told House Republicans he doesn’t “have a political agenda at this point,” noting he wants to talk to the GOP about budget issues, “smart immigration reform,” guns and international relations, namely support for Israel.

But it was House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) who got much heartier applause than the president at a rare meeting with congressional Republicans on Wednesday. The speaker got a standing ovation, according to a source in the room.
