ZitatThe air has been full of 10th-anniversary Iraq war retrospectives. One that caught my eye was a smart piece by Tom Curry, national affairs writer for NBC News, who wrote of one element of the story, the war's impact on the Republican party: "The conflict not only transformed" the GOP, "but all of American politics."
I agree. Iraq was a loser all around. None of the goals Bush promised were ever achieved. It cost a fortune. It cost a lot of good Americans their lives or health. Bush was stubborn in shifting the ground game there when things got bad. He held onto Rummy too long. No one ever calculated that it would go on so long that a Marxist would end up in charge of it and destroy what little positives we gained there. I saw some chick last night trying to defend it on BOR last night and it was the most strained thing ever. The Commie Lib Kirsten Powers actually had the better argument to why the whole thing sucked.
All in all, it was an experiment that failed and should not be repeated. We cannot build democracies in hell holes populated with filthy rag heads.

W made a few mistakes. One he declared Islam a religion of peace. It isn't.
Two he mistakenly thought that democracy was a valid form of govt to Muslims. It isn't.
This article posted here already I believe, laid out the fallacy of bringing the one person/one vote democracy to Muslims. They're full of hate! They see tolerance as weakness. They ain't the same animal as the US population.

"The Republican Party doesn't demonize prosperity. We celebrate success in our party," he said. "And let me be clear, if Republican leaders want to join this president in demonizing success and disparaging conservative values, then they're not going to be fit to be our nominee."
