FULL INTERVIEW: Ted Cruz talks immigration with Hannity, voices deep concerns on any path to citizenship
Ted Cruz was on Sean Hannity’s radio show yesterday and discussed both the possible filibuster for the ‘gun control’ legislation and his agreement and concerns on the bipartisan immigration effort.
With regard to immigration effort, Cruz said that he likes the fact that they are making improvements to legal immigration to hurry that along. And he feels along those lines there is much support across the board. But when it comes to a path to citizenship for illegals, whether it be via a green card or a more direct route, Cruz feels it is unfair to all those who have come in legally or plan to do so:
If we pass something that allows those here illegally to achieve citizenship, it means you’re a chump for having stayed in your own country and followed the rules because you were not able to live here and raise your family and enjoy the tremendous blessings and liberty in the United States simply because you followed the rules.
