Anyone want to know why the GOP is heading into oblivion as a party, look no further than who they are hiring to reinvigorate the place. If this kid is only half as stupid has his father, he is still going to be a disaster.
ZitatThe Republican National Committee has hired the son of Fox News commentator Juan Williams to coordinate the party's efforts to reach out to young and black voters.
Raffi Williams, the 24 year-old son of the liberal Fox commentator, will be the RNC's deputy press secretary and will be tasked with helping the GOP make inroads in these communities.
He told BuzzFeed that even though it is not realistic to expect Republicans to "get a ridiculous amount of African Americans in the next election," the party can "can start to make inroads, and the more inclusive we are as a party the better optics we get to other demographics as well — not just African Americans — and that helps us in the long run."
Williams was a Communications Director for the Republican Study Committee and worked for Rep. Dan Benishek's (R-MI) reelection campaign.
After losing every minority group badly during the last election cycle in a country that is getting more diverse, the RNC conducted an "autopsy" report that identified the problems the GOP has had with minority voters. Williams said RNC Chair Reince Priebus is enthusiastic about his efforts and it seems like he will be given the resources to succeed.
"So it's about making those new connections and getting the support I need. People are really enthused about it," Williams said. "And that's a nice thing for me. I didn't know what I was walking into exactly but from the Chairman on down everyone is so on board with this."
Republicans may be able to win over black voters after Obama leaves office because many blacks tend to be conservative on issues like immigration and gay marriage.
For instance, George W. Bush won 16% of the black vote in Ohio in 2004, largely because many culturally conservative black voters went to the polls to vote against gay marriage. In 2008, Obama won 97% of the black vote in Ohio. And in 2012, Obama received 96% of the black vote in Ohio, but blacks made up an astounding 15% of Ohio's electorate on election day, which made the difference for Obama in the state.

Yeah right. The blacks are very Conservative, just like the Mexicans. Only problem is that their Conservatism is consistently bought off with a Rat govt' hand out of some form.

10 Black Republicans You Probably Don’t Know But Should « PREV | NEXT » RAPHAEL “RAFFI” WILLIAMS
Williams is one of the smartest young guys coming up in the Republican Party. A recent graduate of Haverford College in Pennsylvania, He is currently Communications Director at Benishek for Congress. He left a position of Staff Assistant for the House Rules Committee to go on the campaign trail. Within 10-15 years, I expect him to manage a Republican presidential campaign. Williams will definitely be a “go to” political operative within the next couple of years. http://www.blackenterprise.com/news/10-b...ou-probably-don’t-know-but-should/
With such an idiot father it makes sense would be republican. He is just so young though
Trying to win over the black population in this country is a lost cause. They have been given so many entitlements that it would be hard for them to endanger their livelihood by voting anything other than democrat.
I think the republican party needs to focus more on white democrats that might have some sense of "love for country" that blacks don't seem to have. We're going to have some very disatisfied democrats when Obamacare starts to take it toll on their finances.
It's the Democrats who pull people apart into special interests.
Are the Republicans going to attempt to entice the environmentalists? The women who hold to old and worn liberation values as a cludgel for reproductive care? What principles are they unwilling to throw on the table, compromise on and then condemn conservatives for being unreasonable? I think the answer is that nothing is sacred. They want to be bipartisan and blur the lines further. It takes too much effort to defend the fort from attack, it is easier to make concessions and declare the subject closed before the people have rejected their proposals. Declare the problem solved and move on to spending more money.
This does not make any sense. All it will do is turn Republicans into Democrat-lites.
Orthodoxy SUCKS.
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
I'm going to be optimist on this news. He's young, smart and on our side if I give him the benefit of doubt. My kids are his age and they are motivated conservatives as are most of their friends. If it opens the dialogue that's a good thing.
