PRESIDENT OBAMA: "And I told the story about two conversations I had. The first conversation was when Michelle came back from doing some campaigning out in rural Iowa. And we were sitting at dinner, and she had been to like a big county, a lot of driving out there, a lot of farmland. And she said, if I was living out in a farm in Iowa, I'd probably want a gun, too. If somebody just drives up into your driveway and you're not home -- you don't know who these people are and you don't know how long it's going to take for the sheriffs to respond. I can see why you'd want some guns for protection. That's one conversation."
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
To get a glimpse into their thoughts and private conversations is rare. I cannot imagine the stimulating dinner conversations they must have when they are alone together. They actually believe this garbage and think that rural America is like this. God help us!
Orthodoxy SUCKS.

The ignorance of those raised in the concrete city. My retired nephew says he has kids in his classes each year that have never seen grass.
I am not a republican I am a conservative, and supporter of the rule of law. And refuse to support any of Roves dopes.

I believe this blindness with the Obamas is chosen.
I have never lived in a large city but I know that if I cared to learn what it was like to live within one that I could.
The other thought that is disturbing to me is the idea of "others". Again, Obama is separating people into groups. But our rights are not divided in that way. This idea of his is actually dangerous. I don't know that enough people actually listen to what he says.
Orthodoxy SUCKS.

I have.
When I'm in the city with the constant sound of sirens and ghetto gates on the storefronts covered with graffiti. Bums on the corner yelling and begging and gangs of hoods forcing people to cross the street in fear. The smell of weed coming from the ally that's overflowing with garbage and the homeless sleeping off their drunk next to the Theater or The Union League or one of the high end condo buildings where the doorman stands guard for the safety of the inhabitants knowing he/she is only as useful as honest people will allow. OWS, mobs of not white/Asian/Hispanic older teens tormenting people and businesses, black panthers standing guard at polling places, record high homicides, cop killers being hailed as hero's...I would want a gun for protection too.

I understand.
The gun restrictions in his home city of Chicago are a stark contrast with rural Iowa. Regardless of location the 2nd amendment should apply equally. That it doesn't is met with Obama's approval.. while he is surrounded by SS protection.
