Boehner is now suggesting he might disregard the ‘Hastert Rule’ on upcoming votes on guns, immigration and the budget. Which means he may allow them to be voted on and pass even if most Republicans voted against them.
Levin has had enough and calls John Boeher out, saying he is the water carrier for Harry Reid.
I was assured that I did not need to worry about the vote in the Senate because the House would stop any gun control, immigration and budget legislation from being passed. Boehner is owned by the Democratic party. The Democrats are laughing with glee.
Orthodoxy SUCKS.
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson

On any issues as important and defining as the ones B****r is allowing votes on? Can you show me an instance where Pelosi brought votes up that had overwhelming GOP support and little from her own party?
What the GOP is letting happen here will guarantee their loss of the House in '14 and to forever be the opposition party without any leadership role whatsoever.

I agree with you Frank assuming it is true (that Speaker is really planning to allow these votes), and that it happens. (I hope that this isn't true, and that it won't happen.) But if it does, it will be a cataclysmic failure of historic proportion. The only hope is that House conservatives remove him as Speaker as soon as possible -- that could actually turn it into a huge victory if it is done before he is allowed to do too much damage.

“We are writing to express our strong opposition to legislation requiring private sale background checks for firearms purchases,” the letter reads. “Under the precedents and traditions of the House, we would ask that no gun legislation be brought to the floor of the House unless it has the support of a majority of our caucus.”…
A spokesman for Rep. (Steve) Stockman (R-TX) says more than 45 Republicans have signed the letter, although it’s doubtful a “Hastert majority” of the House GOP will endorse it.
