Washington (CNN) – As the Republican Party struggles with ways to attract more African-Americans to its party, one of their own former, African-American presidential candidates could throw a wrench in their plan.
Herman Cain insisted Monday he does not want to be called Republican for fear of being saddled with the "dumb things" Republicans have said in the past. Cain also said the black conservative movement is "different from the Republican brand."
I don't know what to think. I can see his point, but this is not helpful imo. Off topic, he has been very very vocal that he is Black American not African American....no respect from the reporter, subtle agenda push or plain stupid?
I am a registered Independent. I vote conservative and that means nearly always Republican.
I am a Christian. I go to the Lutheran church. I practise my faith daily and I nearly always attend the Lutheran church.
Whatever value you hold highest, that's who you are.
"The Republican Party doesn't demonize prosperity. We celebrate success in our party," he said. "And let me be clear, if Republican leaders want to join this president in demonizing success and disparaging conservative values, then they're not going to be fit to be our nominee."
