Former congressman Todd Akin says he regrets his infamous "legitimate rape" comments, but isn't ruling out another run for office.

Erwin Rommel used the term "criminal stupidity" for this sort of thing...

What makes these politicians THINK we OWE them a second chance ??

IT just goes to prove, in all these cases - Mark Sanford, Anthony Weiner ...and the list goes on, THAT they think what they did (or said in this case) was NO BIG DEAL !!

WELL, it was a big deal .........it was BAD JUDGEMENT and these "bad boys" need to suck it up and ride off into the sunset because life has its consequences !!

It also dawns on me, as Hillary Clinton knocks on the door again, that she did the Country no big favors when she OVERLOOKED her husband's indiscretion(s) for her own selfish political ambitions.

Bill Clinton SHAMED a country !! He was never held accountable and now every JOE that comes along thinks he has a right to a second, third ...chance too.

Maybe it is no big deal to Hillary and her merry band of liberals, but as conservatives, I am glad we hold our "bad boys" to a different standard.

That is why Bill Clinton was by far the worst President in U.S. history......yes, worse, far worse, than Jimmy Carter.

Each time he was caught in personal, political or financial corruption, rather than resign as a gesture of respect for the people of this country (as Nixon did) and to spare this nation further worldwide shame and humiliation, Clinton via his Carville Slime Machine, instead, set about the process of battering the sensiblities of the American people, demanding they lower their standards, again and again, all so Bill Clinton could avoid the proper consequences of his abominable actions.

Clinton selfishly got what he wanted and America, literally, got stuck with the Bill.

Just for the record, the statement Akin made was an recently held belief, including by the medical profession, that traumatic rape would not generally lead to a pregnancy. There is even some evidence to support that claim. Regardless, Akin made a mistake in even answering the question, because no matter how he answered it short of the accepted left-wing view, he was going to get slammed. He not only answered it, he doubled-down and said something politically incorrect.
