Was 9/11 landing gear hidden on purpose?

After surveyors discovered what appears to be plane landing gear from the 9/11 attacks, authorities are wondering how it got sandwiched between two buildings—one of them housing a much-debated Islamic community center.

"The odds of it entering that space at exactly that angle that would permit it to squeeze in there ... it had to come in at almost precisely the right angle," says a police spokesman, per the New York Times. Investigators are considering the possibility that it was deliberately stuck in the spot, CNN reports.

"We are also looking into a possibility it was lowered by a rope," said NYPD commissioner Raymond Kelly, who noted that some rope seemed to be wrapped up in the landing gear [Bold added]

Still, "if you see how confined this space is, and you realize the chaos that existed on this street, I think (the situation is) understandable," Kelly said.



The wall doesn't bear any marks suggesting the piece was lowered, he noted.

Authorities will also investigate whether there are any human remains in the area, he said.

Yes someone hide it and then did not get back. The thing is worth a lot of money in scrap aluminum.

These are amateurs.
When something gets jetisoned from a plane wreck like 9/11 and comes to rest between two buildings like this, there would be some marks on the sides of the buildings showing its path. Even if it did happen to come in at exactly the right angle then there would be some indicators of how it stopped.
Someone with crash scene reconstruction skills will have to determine the most logical scenario for how it arrived at this location. Ray Kelley and his spokescrew appear to be in over their heads.

Anything is possible..and yes there are plenty of nuts in NY...but, I really find it hard to believe.

It's been twelve years since this piece of plane hit where it was found. Maybe some Muslims tied a rope around it and tried to move it at some point.

A chunk of airplane debris found near the World Trade Center site that is believed to have come from one of the 9/11 hijacked jetliners has been identified as a piece from a 767 wing, officials said Monday.

NBC 4 New York, which first reported the finding in an alley near ground zero last week, has also learned the answer to the mystery of a rope that was found intertwined in the part — according to a law enforcement official, a detective who responded to the original call about the part last week tried to move it with a rope.

Authorities on Friday had said the rope might have indicated the part was lowered into the alley, but have since interviewed everyone who had contact with the part last week and have now answered that question. The official tells NBC 4 New York that the detective found the rope nearby and was trying to move the part to find a serial number or other identifying mark.
