Rick Perry on Boy Scouts removing gay ban: I hope the American people will stand up and say ‘not on my watch’
Rick Perry defends the gay ban that the Boy Scouts has in place, arguing that pop culture shouldn’t be allowed to come in and change a private organization because it has a new ‘flavor of the month’. He hopes the American people will stand up and say ‘not on my watch’ to this attack on the Boy Scouts, who he says have operated well for the last century just as they are.
He hopes the Boy Scouts will stand on principle just as Sam Houston, former Governor of Texas, did when not allowing Texas to join the Confederacy.
