May 20, 2013 Obama's Real Legacy By Leann Horrocks
The current abusive conduct by the IRS is breathtaking in its audacity. When you look at last Friday's testimony Acting Commisioner Steven Miller there is a clear disconnect -- the doesn't think anyone did anything illegal, unconstitutional, or even wrong. Apart from a stark posture of arrogance and negative body language, he represents a very large group of people we need to worry about. This guy is beyond zealotry -- he has gone straight to certainty that he is right, his actions are justified and he can't be touched. He's like Obama's buddy Bill Ayers -- I did it, I'm glad, and you can't touch me. Mr. Miller is very deep into the beltway. Guys like him are far more dangerous than Obama because they will all be there when Obama is gone.
IRS abuse is clear; story after story tells of corruption flavored with malice. The scandal of tax-exempt application handling has been going on for so long that there must have been widespread knowledge, but not so long that it can be laid at the feet of anyone outside the current administration. Despite a lame and transparent attempt to involve Bush through his appointment of the previous IRS head, a steady drip-drip-drip of information is coming out to show how many people knew about this and conspired to keep it quiet until after the election. Why the Republicans let this happen is a matter for another day.
IRS offenses had two goals: the first of these was to fight conservative influence in every way possible. Make them spend their money fighting the application delays, distract their energy and resources to the application process, and make it very hard indeed to raise money. This is obvious now and should have been long ago. There must have been thousands of valid complaints to congressional representatives; so why did it take so long to act? Why did they wait until some IRS underling appeared to have spoken out of turn (a Pavlovian plant by the administration) to ignite their outrage?
It is critical that we realize the IRS scandal is an effect rather than a cause of imminent peril.
So far, this is the stuff of classic political chicanery. The second goal of this dreadful enterprise is far worse: it was to gather information in the form of sprawling and intrusive questionnaires that ask for everything from donor lists to "private thoughts" and "content of prayers." The scale of information gathering by this administration is unprecedented and horrifying. The Obama campaign spent millions on purchasing databases, which it then coordinated and began to augment. Notice that information acquisition is never undone.
Oops, we didn't mean to get all the concealed-carry permits in Missouri. Yet, what happened to the data?
"The Missouri State Highway Patrol acknowledged Thursday that it has twice provided a list of 163,000 Missouri residents with concealed gun permits to a federal investigator." Homeland Security said they couldn't decode the information on the CD and they "discarded" it. Please. The government that developed Stuxnet can't open such juicy data?
Oops, we didn't mean anything by getting all the data on California judges. Yet, what happened to the data?
"According to a story by Courthousenews.com, an unnamed healthcare provider in California is suing the IRS and 15 unnamed agents, alleging that they improperly seized some 60 million medical records of 10 million Americans, including medical records of all California state judges on March 11, 2011.
Somewhere out there is a massive database and you're probably in it. In addition to the massive Obama machine database, there is a whopper being built by the NSA.
It is located in the Utah Data Center. "Its purpose: to intercept, decipher, analyze, and store vast swaths of the world's communications as they zap down from satellites and zip through the underground and undersea cables of international, foreign, and domestic networks. The heavily fortified $2 billion center should be up and running in September 2013. Flowing through its servers and routers and stored in near-bottomless databases will be all forms of communication, including the complete contents of private emails, cell phone calls, and Google searches, as well as all sorts of personal data trails-parking receipts, travel itineraries, bookstore purchases, and other digital "pocket litter."
If you're not here or in another administration database, it's just an oversight and will soon be corrected.
"Inside the Senate's immigration reform proposal is a section on electronic employment verification... The Senate bill expands the current system by reimbursing states for the costs of submitting driver's license and state ID photos to the database. Unless states refuse the hundreds of millions of dollars allocated by the bill for this purpose, which is highly unlikely, the Department of Homeland Security will have a national biometric identification database that includes every U.S. worker."
Early in his reign, Obama took over all student loans. This gives him two big benefits; one huge amount of data on all these people, and unbelievable leverage. All he has to do is hint at "forgiving" all or some of this debt and he has the vote of every student debtor.
The massive data the Obama machine has collected was used to great effect in its get-out-the-vote campaign against Romney. I, for one, do not believe they stopped using the information at the polling station door. Data is power and its use cannot be resisted.
There is a lot of complex smoke being blown right now, but you can cut through it by asking one question about the IRS scandal: Who benefits from every single one of these abuses? The answer is Barack Obama now and every Democrat later.
A horde of miscreants with the same outlook on their job as Mr. Miller are all facing on one direction -- right at the presidential portrait on the Federal facility wall. One can only surmise that the miscreants were hired because they were of the mindset that this abusive conduct was acceptable, if not expected. This would be bad enough, but if it is not the case, then employees throughout the department (if not the organization) were instructed to do everything they could to thwart conservative efforts.
Who, after reflecting on this situation, could possibly think this conduct is limited to the IRS?
"Who, after reflecting on this situation, could possibly think this conduct is limited to the IRS?"
That is the part that scares me. Half of America has bowed to Baal. Political expediency now drives all the libs decision making, NOT the moral appropriateness or even the legality of their actions.
"The Republican Party doesn't demonize prosperity. We celebrate success in our party," he said. "And let me be clear, if Republican leaders want to join this president in demonizing success and disparaging conservative values, then they're not going to be fit to be our nominee."
