Chuck Schumer, (D-NY), who usually can’t restrain himself from offering his opinions, suddenly had his jaw wired shut on CBS News' Face The Nation Sunday when he was asked about Anthony Weiner’s run for mayor of New York City.
Schumer said, “I’m not commenting on the mayor’s race or on Anthony Weiner’s race at this point, no.” Host Bob Schieffer wasn’t satisfied with that answer and continued, “Do you think he ought to run?”
Schumer answered, “I’m not commenting, Bob,” eschewing the same contorted path as New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who first said publicly that if Weiner were elected, “shame on us,” then had his staff lamely backtrack by stating that he was joking.
Personal morality is highly situational when you are a Dim.
