Lois was heard to say, one way or another I'm gonna gitcha.
Half of America has bowed to Baal. Political expediency now drives all the libs decision making, NOT the moral appropriateness or even the legality of their actions.
She won't suffer any more than superficially from this. She'll get her pension, she'll be a hero to the left, she'll write a book, she won't feel a moment's worth of mental conflict and certainly not anguish from her actions. It was all for the cause, etc.
