Rubio: ‘I’m done’ if immigration bill includes gay couple amendment
Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, a co-author and key proponent of the Senate immigration bill, said he will revoke his support if an amendment is added that allows gay Americans to petition for same-sex spouses living abroad to secure a green card.
"If this bill has in it something that gives gay couples immigration rights and so forth, it kills the bill. I'm done," Rubio said Thursday during an interview on the Andrea Tantaros Show. "I'm off it, and I've said that repeatedly. I don't think that's going to happen and it shouldn't happen. This is already a difficult enough issue as it is."
The amendment, introduced by Vermont Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy, would grant green cards to foreign partners of gay unauthorized immigrants who seek legal status under new rules in the bill. Leahy originally introduced the measure during the Senate Judiciary Committee markup of the bill, but he withdrew it under pressure from Republican lawmakers who said it would reduce the chance of the bill passing.
The Senate is expected to vote on Leahy's amendment soon.
So no enforcement on the borders and free entitlements for all illegals is swell with Marco, but getting sombrero wearing queers involved is a deal breaker? This guy is a clown.

Death by amendment.
What are you talking about? This isn't an amendment that the GOP is injecting to kill it. It is Leftist nonsense from a full supporter of open borders. It is a straw dog this loser Rubio is using to show he is really interested in keeping this bill clean. He is in fact on the record telling the illegals that the free lunch is on its way as soon as they pass this amnesty.
Rubio is perfectly happy with this legislation as it stands. He is on the record with that.

"If the border situation is not improved in this bill, this bill won't pass," he said. "It won't pass the Senate and it has no chance in the House. It won't become a law and we're wasting our time."
“Let’s be clear. Nobody is talking about preventing the legalization. The legalization is going to happen. That means the following will happen: First comes the legalization. Then come the measures to secure the border.”- Marco Rubio 6/9/13

It's a pretty simple strategy, really.
Add an amendment so odious that anyone who wants to vote against the bill will have ample justification to do so.
Looks like Leahy took the bait and I hope the Democrats "steamroll" the Republicans so his amendment is added to the final bill.
You have to wonder what color the sky is on his home planet if he EVER seriously thought the bill wouldn't allow homosexual couple immigration.

Not entirely true. He really doesn't give a damn if they are homosexuals or not,as long as they will vote for the guy with the His-Panic name that's running in 2016.
He's not really a idiot, even if he sometimes plays on on teebee. He knew all along that homsexual couples would be allowed. The only reason he's complaining now it to keep from losing the Bible Thumper vote, and he will get that anyhow after making this token protest.
