Four weeks ago the College Board president David Coleman admitted he snookered Republican governors into accepting Common Core. In his May 17 presentation to education data analysts in Boston, the author of Common Core State Standards said:
When I was involved in convincing governors and others around this country to adopt these standards, it was not 'Obama likes them'; do you think that would have gone well with a Republican crowd?
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
"If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here." - Barack Obama, June 7, 2013
The author never identifies the GOP Governors who were snookered, precisely what they were snookered about or the deleterious effects which flowed from the alleged snookering.
But, at the end he does state "many states have awakened to the deficiencies in Common Core and are even moving to defund them...."
Boil it down and all that's left is the residue of egg on the GOP bashing author's face.

Texas Governor Rick Perry, Alaska Governor Sean Parnell, Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman have not adopted the Common Core curriculum.
