The National Security Agency and Justice Department mounted a vigorous defense of the government's controversial surveillance efforts on Tuesday, with NSA chief Gen. Keith Alexander claiming they have helped prevent "potential terrorist events" over 50 times since 9/11.

One of the problems with Congress investigating the NSA scandal is that they wall themselves off in closed hearings from the public.

I didn't realize that adherence to the Constitution had a "unless we are thwarting potential terror plots" clause.

I'm just supposed to take somebody's word for it that terror plots have been stopped more than 50 times by NSA surveillance from a government that is up to its eyeballs with corruption?

I don't think so.

Of course I've seen no one ask why our borders are secure, why we let the UN determine who we allow to enter as refugees, why we allow, encourage even in the name of diversity, immigration from countries that produce Jihadis, why we let political Islam pretend that it is a religion, why we suppress speech that identifies the goals and tactics of political Islam, .. .. ..
