I think we can all agree with that sentiment.
However; please enlighten us all as to how exactly Rubio and his gang are trying to kill the bill instead of pass the bill?
I think "Rubio and his gang" (narrowly defined) are trying to ram the bill through.
Well that's what I'm seeing as well, ramming it through. So how exactly do we get the bill killed if the Republicans are committing suicide by ramming it through?

Possibilities:
Something like the "Leahy" amendment makes it in and Rubio and others vote against the final bill.
Some of the RINOs switch to the "right" side on the final vote and a few Democrats (Pryor, Landrieu, Baucus) come over to our side.
It passes in the Senate, but Boehner invokes the "Hastert" rule and it never comes to a vote in the House.
It comes to a vote in the House and the bill is defeated.

You can't have it both ways. You can't call out congress for dereliction of duty and then sum it up by blaming two Conservatives for being "cynical" for citing the same shortcomings you originally cited. You demonstrated the typical knee jerk response from any Bush administration hack by blaming Conservatives for problems that are their own fault.

That's a lot of 'ifs' and 'maybes' in there. Also a lot of faith in RINO's doing the right thing in all of the above scenarios that they have no track record of actually doing.
You have more faith in them than I have that's for darn sure. I don't trust them as far as I could throw them to do any of the above.

I didn't do that, Frank.
I have no problem with anyone accurately pointing out the "derelictions" of the past.
But, I stated that "now the likes of Levin and Limbaugh...cynically taint the (current) debate and frighten people with impunity, hopelessly poisoning the well."
They are so certain that somehow we're all gonna get screwed in the end that they and their followers have emphatically foreclosed on any possibility that any good immigration legislation could ever come out of the current Congress.
So, let's just get busy and help to kill the bill.
Then we won't have to worry about it (for a while anyway).
