"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
"If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here." - Barack Obama, June 7, 2013

Quote: Cedric wrote in post #3That's not exactly what she said.
She is obviously under the impression that the Corker amendment strengthens border security.
And she correctly pointed out that when it goes to the House it can be toughened up some more.
I don't think she was endorsing the idea of amnesty first and border security never.
I'm not the governor, but I would think she would know much more than even I do about this legislation and the impact it will have upon her state. If most people with common sense can see that this piece of legislation in the Senate will harm our national security and be detrimental to our economy, why isn't the governor speaking against this?

"We were promised before that our borders would be secured and it didn't happen. Our borders need to be secured and then we need to discuss the legalization." - Jan Brewer

Because she is a dumb cluck, always has been, always will be.
UPDATE: Brewer appeared on Fox News on Monday and doubled-down on her “victory for Arizona” comment, but specified it was in regards to the “border surge.” Later in the afternoon, she tweeted that she does not endorse the Gang of Eight’s bill.
